log.png Description

Training for each designated EVC for every school and youth service area.
The one day certificated course, covers the management checks and procedures recommended by DfE, Local Authorities and school employers.

The training programme is developed and delivered by the Panel. The Panel publish National Guidance on School Visits and Learning Outside the Classroom.

Prior to this new website, the OEAP were involved in producing draft guidance with the DfES, 'Standards for LEAs in Overseeing Educational Visits' and 'Standards for Adventure', between September 2001 and March 2002.
The website extends and updates the DfES publication "Health and Safety of Pupils on Educational Visits" (HASPEV) produced by the DfES in 1998 (no longer in print)

The EVC training programme is overseen and monitored by the OEAP.
It is appropriate for all schools and other establishments whether they are LA maintained, academies or independent.
Courses delivered by accredited OEAP trainers may be accessed through many local authorities and other employers, or through courses advertised on the OEAP training website.
Establishments should check whether their employer has particular requirements regarding EVC training, such as for periodic re-training or a requirement for attendance at specific courses tailored for its own staff.
